I love theme nights.
What's a theme night?! I hear cried out from people sitting at their desks, fidgeting with their computers. Well, perplexed compadre, a theme night is when you watch a movie & the food that you eat ties into that movie.
Virginia Left-Brain [That is the name I have given to my deeply left-brained, Virginian boyfriend, Adam] & I have had several.
For 4/20, I made brownies & we watched the "Drug Testing" episode of The Office.
One evening, after VLB revealed he had never seen the musical "Oklahoma!" [Pause for reaction. . . . . . . ] we watched said musical with chicken, corn, rolls, mashed potatoes, beer & ice cream sundaes.
Previously, with a few gal pals, we watched "Eclipse" [Yeah, yeah, judge all you want] & ate red velvet cake.
I. Love. Theme. Nights. It makes what may be a normal event, more eventful! I'm all for making simple, everyday nuances a little more special.
So, tonight, we had another theme night: Cheesburgers from Braum's [A favorite Oklahoma chain of mine. Ice cream, shakes, burgers, whatever: It's all so wonderful] & watched one of my all time favorites "Heavyweights."

A little fun fact for you, Judd Apatow, who wrote "Knocked Up" & similar films of that genre, actually wrote "Heavyweights."
I know, right?!
Even if you want to throw your own theme night, I recommend it. I regularly have a "Gilmore Girls" theme night where I emotionally eat a sleeve of Oreos & a thing of McDonald's fries while watching episodes of "Gilmore Girls."
No shame or judgement here.
